I'm an Auckland designer with 25 years industry experience both here and in the UK. For 12 of those years I was running a small design company; servicing clients, looking after staff and fulfilling my favourite role as Design Director. Having a speciality in packaging and brand design - I love anything that involves working out tricky problems and coming up with cohesive, consistent solutions. For the past 4 years I have been working as a freelancer for Auckland agencies, often ending up as a 'perma-lancer' for my favourite companies.
Why freelancing?
Honestly I love it! I have learned so many useful skills from the wide variety of design teams I have worked with. Being around new designers and clients is revitalising and improves my creative work. I hope that, in turn, that I have been really useful by solving a lot of problems, taking the load off a lot of stressed designers and creating some great work for my clients.
